It is official, The American Tin Cannery will be replaced by a Super Eco Friendly hotel. 160 Rooms, conference center, and retail. It is going to be amazing! We don't really know how long we have... the Coastal Commission will probably drive that train.... but in the mean time its business as usual in the the mall. There are many locally owned businesses that will be displaced here... come by and support Kai Lee Creamery, First Awakenings, China House, Archies, The Sock Shop, Artisans of Monterey, Clothing Optional boutique, Dorotas Alterations, Sages Salon, Evolution Wellness and Marina Patina... Plus the outlets that employ your neighbors and friends, Bass, Van Huesen, Pendelton, DB Shoes, Candy world, and more!

Yes! By all means show your support to all of the businesses still operating in the ATC. Just because there is a plan to turn the ATC into a luxury hotel doesn't mean that it will happen overnight. It could take several years before businesses have to move out. And they will have to move out, but not today, not next month, not for some time.
